Evolution

So a lot people ask me what do I think is in the future for hip hip. As far as I am concerned we are in an evolution phase. It has been years now and all of the gimmicks and sucky music deals are coming full circle. It's about the music now, so If your a talented artists there is absolutely no reason why you can't do this thing if you got the drive. The interest has made it difficult in a lot of ways but I think easier for most. A change was long over due and honestly I'm ready. It's about this music now yall....get ready for the storm!

Disaster Strikes!!

Alright some it seems like sometimes I have the worst luck period! I'm feeling a little shaggy on the head so I decided I'm going to get a fresh cut. I'm talking to the barber and everything is good, and all of a sudden the power goes out on the whole block, right in the middle of my cut. This fool left me with a bowl on top of my head....ridiculous!! My girl had to shave my head so I'm basically bald for awhile. Dammmmmmit!

The Legend Lives on...

Okay first I got to say my heart is so hurt that Michael Jackson passed away. I also want to give a huge fuck you to everyone who had something foul to say about the man. Unquestionably no other artist impacted my life in music like this man. Honestly he is the sole reason why I even do music, and to all you other artists out there who he impacted you need to speak up and pay respect now thats real. Oh and of course I got to say a massive fuck you to CNN who tried to play my man. If I could I would boycott your whack asses!!! But enough of the anger let's show some love big ups to the legend, I can't say enough about the one & only Michael Jackson.

Rest in Peace

New Pittsburgh Courier write up

Pittsburgh native Sure Wil: Destined for success

Ambition can take a person many places and for this young artist, it’s going to take him to the top. He rocks clubs all over Florida with his unique sound. A Pittsburgh native, LeChon Wilson, a.k.a. Sure Wil, has a music style all his own.

SURE WIL

Growing up listening to artists such as Marvin Gaye, The Chi Lites and Michael Jackson, Sure Wil is pushing his music as far as he can. Sure Wil grew up on the North Side of Pittsburgh and moved all over the city. “Trying to make it in the business is hard in general, I think its better here [Pittsburgh] than a huge city.” He is the definition of an all around artist.  He doesn’t just do music; he also does spoken word poetry.

“I’ve always been a fan of music; my mom was the one who got me into it.” Sure Wil explains. She passed that love on to her son. Sure Wil has an obvious passion for music and being an artist.

Sure Wil attended the Civic Light Opera School for performing arts. He then entered the Marine Corps and left Pittsburgh. “I’ve traveled to Europe and Spain, the time goes really fast,” he said.

Sure Wil could be compared to hip-hop artists such as Lupe Fiasco, Common, or Mos Def. When asked why he chose the type of music that he did instead of what is widely popular now, he said, “I didn’t really choose. My music depends on how I’m feeling at the particular time. I have no aspirations to be like other rappers.”

He writes his own music, and when he gets inspiration, he immediately starts writing what came to his head.

When asked what advice he would give to young artists coming into the music business, he said, “Make your own path, be original. If you make music because you love music, people can tell that there is passion in what you do.”

Sure Wil’s music has even made it across the world, so look out for an upcoming show here in “The Burgh.” His debut CD “Liphenmuzik” is scheduled for spring 2009.

Sure Wil is destined for success by sheer will.

The Connection

So it's been awhile since I updated my blog but here it goes. I been talking recently with a really good friend of mine who I was in the Marines with. He goes by the name Dj Rukiss and the dude is just plain sick on the 1's & 2's. He says to me Wil we should do a mixtape together, what's really good. The rest is plain history. With that being said my debut mixtape "The Remedy" with the acclaimed Dj Rukiss is scheduled to be released sping/summer of 2009. Keep yourself locked in!!

6 Rings

So as you all may know by now I am from Pittsburgh. I spent my childhood there so naturally I am a huge steelers fan. This weekend my team put everything on the line, and played one of the greatest games I've ever seen. So to all the Steeler's fans in the world congrats, and to the fans of other teams who aren't as fortunate. We got plenty of room for you over here...lmao. It was pouring Black & Gold through the streets of Tampa. " Here we go Steeler's here we go!"
